After Stan’s passing, the three remaining band members – Martin, Glenn and Liam – piloted the album to completion, combining modern technology with a good old fashioned ‘find a way’ mentality.

Key to this alchemy was the recruitment of Ed Jones as producer with Eddie Mooney on mastering, who together forged hundreds of elements into ten stunning tracks. The earlier V2 might have recorded almost live in the studio, with a few overdubs and effects, but Stan’s Guest List was rather different, taking shape, strand by strand, across myriad studios, home studios (and a garage), before being magically knitted together using the latest digital tools.

Some songs started with lyrics, others with a basic track or idea. Digital files went back and forth after being augmented by the V2 ‘house band’ and contributors. Different vocal takes and flourishes were then painstakingly edited and mixed before each song finally emerged in its perfectly finished form.
